Singapore —

A photo of a legendary creature said to live in the areas around Singapore has popped up on the internet recently.

The photo is of the Bukit Timah Monkey Man, a creature similar to the Bigfoot of the Americas. The photo was taken by The NightRaiders; a group that explores locations in Singapore during the night hours.

The image of the creature was taken at a nature preserve known as Drongo Trial. The crew was testing equipment when they noticed something strange in the trees.

“The main point is that this photo depicts the urban legend of the BTMM and it is up to the public to decide if he truly exists or not,” The group wrote on their Facebook Page.

Sightings of the Bukit Timah Monkey Man have traced back to World War II. Japanese soldiers in Singapore made reports of the creature.

In modern times, citizens of Singapore have seen the creature and even made contact with the creature. A taxi-driver recounted a story to media about a fellow driver that collided with the Bukit Timah Monkey Man. In the resulting accident, the creature was injured but still managed to move quickly into the forest.
