The Pentagon has confirmed that a series of images and videos, filmed by the US Navy, of a pyramid-shaped UFO are authentic.

The images and video are from a classified briefing about UFO/UAP presence from May 2020, according to Jeremy Corbell, a filmmaker working with reporter George Knapp.

The footage, from 2019 filmed by the crew of the USS Russell off the coast of San Diego, contains a mysterious pyramid-shaped object in the sky reflecting light and traveling overhead.

"I can confirm that the referenced photos and videos were taken by Navy personnel," Pentagon spokesperson Susan Gough said in a statement.

"The UAPTF (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force) has included these incidents in their ongoing examinations."

The Pentagon confirmed the authenticity of the evidence has done nothing to loosen the gag order or UFO/UAP information from the Department of Defense.

"As we have said before, to maintain operations security and to avoid disclosing information that may be useful to potential adversaries, DOD does not discuss publicly the details of either the observations or the examinations of reported incursions into our training ranges or designated airspace, including those incursions initially designated as UAP," Gough said.

The briefings also included an observation of a spherical vehicle, reported by the crew of the USS Omaha, flying into the ocean and disappearing. A submarine was used to find possible wreckage of a craft but none were found.

A series of sightings, all on the same day in March 2019 by a F-18 weapon systems officer and revealing three UAPs near Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia.

The objects, known as the “Sphere”, the “Acorn”, and the “Metallic Blimp” have been thought of as weather balloons but they remain unidentified.

Corbell, Knapp, and others hope the sharing of this information will bolster rational and transparent investigations of these objects.

"Recent UAP interactions have been put in our path with purpose, and should be looked upon as advantageous opportunities for future research," a senior intelligence officer told Corbell about the recent UAP sightings.
