Possible Signs Of Life Found On Venus

Scientist have detected a chemical in the atmosphere of Venus which could be a sign of alien life on earth’s neighbor.

The find was announced in a paper published on Monday, September 14, 2020. The paper centers around the gas phosphine. The chemical was observed around 30 miles above the planet’s surface. The discovery of the gas indicates life could possibly be located on Venus. Phosphine, on Earth, is only produced by industrial activity or near microbes.

Both would be exciting to find on Venus but the likely source of the chemical is presumed to be microbes; which is still groundbreaking. The discovery of phosphine has invited interest in exploring the planet further. Scientist are quick to temper the high-hopes of many as the discovery probably “doesn’t mean” arial-life in Venus’ atmosphere.

Data came from the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope in Hawaii.
